Tangerine Sherbet
Tangerine Sherbet seeds by Growers Choice are another great strain added to the seed list of this Dutch seedbank. This 3rd generation sativa dominant hybrid has a flowering period of 10 weeks, coming out in large plants with a very high yield capacity. Tangerine Sherbet can be grown indoors and outdoors, using different growing techniques to get abondant crops.
Genetics of Tangerine Sherbet Variety
Tangerine Sherbet is a 50% indica - 50% sativa hybrid born from the cross Tangerine x Sunset Sherbet. Tangerine Sherbet plants flower in 10 weeks, resulting in a final product that combines the citrus and fresh aromas of Tangerine with the sweetness of Sunset Sherbet.
During the genetic development project led by the Growers Choice team, production, quality, and aroma were marked as key selection elements, which after three generations, have been achieved, resulting in genetics that excel in each of the valuable aspects.
Growers Choice Tangerine Sherbet Seeds
Growers Choice Tangerine Sherbet seeds are feminized, so they only produce female plants. This characteristic makes them ideal for growers looking for easy solutions to carry out their crops, without wasting money and efforts on male plants that contribute nothing to the harvest.
Tangerine Sherbet has the vigorous growth of a hybrid, with medium-height, bushy plants, with a medium stretch (inherited from Tangerine). The structure of the plants is candelabra-like, with 10-12 secondary branches that act as the main one.
The indoor and outdoor yield of Tangerine Sherbet, in addition to its prized flavor and exquisite aroma, make it a perfect genetic for cultivation, which will achieve good results even in the hands of less experienced growers.
Tangerine Sherbet in Growth Phase
Although Tangerine Sherbet is a balanced 50%-50% hybrid, in some of its aspects, the sativa side provided by Tangerine stands out, with a significantly higher internodal distance, and slightly thinner and longer leaves than those of a pure indica.
It is a variety that develops rapidly, so we are talking about good genetics both in SOG-type crops and in SCROG-type crops. Once the first 15 days have passed since germination, you will notice an increase in the growth rate of the plants, which will quickly acquire the necessary size for transplantation or to be moved to flowering.
Outdoors, this variety will remain in the vegetative phase until mid-August (northern hemisphere), when it will begin to show its first flowers.
Flowering of Tangerine Sherbet Indoors and Outdoors
Tangerine Sherbet begins to flower 10 days after the change in light photoperiod to 12/12. During these 10 days, the plants will undergo a medium stretch, which generates enough internodal space to accommodate their large and dense flowers. After this transition process, Tangerine Sherbet will start flowering, being ready for harvest in 9 weeks from the appearance of the first pistils (some phenotypes may be ready for harvest in 8 weeks, although it is preferable to wait for the optimal harvest point).
Outdoors, Tangerine Sherbet will remain in the vegetative phase until mid-August, when it will show its first flowers, indicating that flowering has begun. In the northern hemisphere, the vast majority of Tangerine Sherbet plants will be ready for harvest by mid-October.
Tangerine Sherbet offers a very high flower production indoors with yields of up to 650 g/m2 under a 600w HPS light, and outdoors up to 1.5 kg per plant. It is precisely outdoors where one of its greatest virtues comes to light, as Tangerine Sherbet has a high resistance to mold attacks.
Production of Tangerine Sherbet Cannabis Plants
As we have mentioned, Tangerine Sherbet is a great producer of flowers indoors and outdoors. Its significantly longer flowering period than other genetics with more indica dominance does not condition the final production but quite the opposite. Each additional day of flowering compared to other varieties is justified by a higher final production in each harvest.
Indoors, production can easily reach 650 g/m2 under a 600w light, whether in SOG or SCROG cultivation. If you grow it under 1000w lights, or the new high-end LEDs, it is even probable that the production per m2 will exceed 1kg.
Outdoors, it is a genetic that achieves very good yields, especially when grown in the ground or in containers larger than 90L. In these cases, it is not uncommon for Tangerine Sherbet to easily exceed 1kg per plant, reaching up to 2 kg/plant in locations with plenty of sunlight, good substrate, and nutrients.
Another factor that helps to obtain a good final production is its high resistance to fungus attacks. This resistance is partly due to its natural structure, which promotes the formation of 10-12 main buds, instead of a large central bud (which in most cases tends to cause problems due to botrytis, due to the lack of air circulation through its center).
Another important detail of this variety outdoors is that it appreciates being grown in the ground or in large containers of at least 90-100 liters. If you do so, the harvest will be significantly magnified.

Final Thoughts on Tangerine Sherbet and its Offer Price
As we like to call things by their name, the first thing we are going to say about this Tangerine Sherbet is that if you like fast-flowering indicas, you can now turn the page and never look back. This variety is not intended for growers looking for quick harvests at any cost.
If you are still here reading, you are part of the select group of growers unafraid of 8-9 week flowering periods, who value the quality and final yield of each harvest.
If we assess the characteristics of Tangerine Sherbet, we cannot forget the dominance of Tangie genetics, which persists in all crosses in which it intervenes as a parent. If you like citrus flavor, you will love it. If you have tried Tangerine and didn't like it, forget about Tangerine Sherbet; every puff will somehow remind you of what you didn't like.
On the contrary, if you value the Tangie touch and are looking for something new that significantly modifies that flavor, while also adding a sweeter and more indulgent aroma, you should not delay in germinating the seeds.
Speaking of its price, especially considering the 5+2 offer (where each pack of 5 seeds includes 2 extra free seeds), we are facing a variety with a very low price per seed, capable of guaranteeing quantity and quality of harvest, as well as ease of cultivation.
