Genetics of Silvergrape Sherbet strain

Silvergrape Sherbet is an indica dominant hybrid, born from a triple cross Grape Ape x Silver Haze x Sunset Sherbet. Silvergrape Sherbet born from this breeding project has a flowering period of 9 weeks, with a final result that combines perfectly the characteristics of each parental used in terms of taste, aroma and yields.

The history behind the origin of SIlvergrape Sherbet begins crossing the original dutch Super Silver Haze, with the exqusiite aroma of Grape Ape. One of the breeders selected a clone of that special crossing and crossed it with Sherbet male, to further on do a phenohunt looking for a cutting that keeps the best from each parental.

Growers Choice Silver Grape Sherbet seeds

Silver Grape Sherbet seeds are feminized and only produce female plants. These seeds are suitable for indoor and outdoor growing, as they save time and space to grower, who will only need to take care of those plants that source you with crop.

The plants have high vigourosity and quick developement, becoming in really big plants indoors and outdoors. Its structure favors a huge manin cola, surrounded by many good-sized and notorious density secondary nugs.

Silver Grape Sherbet seeds are amazing plants to grow, reaching huge yields over the average, being resitant against mold attacks and high RH.

Developement of Silvergrape Sherbet in vegetative stage

Even though Silvergrape Sherbet is an indica dominant hybrid, if you pay attention to its growth vigor and structure, you'll notice easily that there are sativa genes in her.

Those more experienced growers will detect long and thin leaves (showing that sativa side), in addition to a node formation with longer internodal space, what will finally give her an appeal of a biggerplant, with leaves letting the light to pass through the whole plant.

It will be after 10-15 days from germination that you'll detect an increase of developement velocity in plants, that quickly get the needed size to begin bloom stage.

This genetics regarding its high growth potential, can be grown in SOG gardens, in which the size of its main cola itself will give you results, or in SCROG-type of gardens, in which 2-4 plants will be enough to fill the trellis so quick, without any need of enlarging the growing phase.

Flowering Silver Grape Sherbet indoors and outdoors

SIlver Grape Sherbet plants will begin its flowering 10 days after switching the photoperiod of light to 12/12. During those 10 days plants will double their size, enlarging the internodal space to leave room for the large and dense nugs that will fill the branches. After this transition and moderate stretch, Silver Grape Sherbet will begin to flower, and will be ready to harvest in 9 weeks from first pistils appearance.

Outside Silver Grape SHerbet will stay in vegetative stage until mid. August, moment in which bloom phase will start, being ready to harvest by mid. October (northern hemisphere).

Another advantage of this strain is its high resistance against mold and pests, that helps her getting good crops without losses suffered by other strains with similar flowering period.

Silver Grape Sherbet does good in warm climates, ad well as in cold climates (if temperatures at nightime are not lower than 10ºC).

Although it is not a strain negatively affected by nutrients, it is important to not overfeed her to avoid nutrient-locks that could harm its final yields. This genetics is sensible to high ratios of fertilizers in a continued way, so it will thank a control on the amount of nutrients sourced.

Yields of Silvergrape Sherbet cannabis plants

The yields of flowers of this strain is high, asuring crops over average, no matter if you let her grown naturally or applying advanced growing techniques. Buds are large, dense and resin covered, so it is not rare to see plants yielding up 750 g/m2 indoors, and yields up to 2-3 kg/plant outdoors.

Silvergrape Sherbet can be grown in SOG and SCROG getting amazing results in both cases. In our opinion the yields of this strain grown using one or another tehcnique are similar, almost equal, so it will be a grower's decision to choose which technique fits better to the facility needings.

Indoors Silvergrape Sherbet can yield up to 750 g/m2 under 600w HPS, or even higher if you use a more powerful and efficient growlight.

Outdoors, thanks to its high resistance against pests, and its high performance, it is not rare that plants grown in-ground can yield up to 3 kg/plant.

Taste and smell of Silvergrape Sherbet marijuana

Silvergrape Sherbet alive plants release an aroma that clearly reminds Silver Haze, with sweet tones that have an origin on the Grape Ape. Dried flowers keep that aroma, with tones of berries, citrics and cookies. The taste is sweet, exotic and fresch. A deli for consumer.

Effect of Silver Grape Sherbet weed

Even though being an indica dominant genetics, its effect is more energic than relaxed, with THC levels of 25% and medium CBD levels, that leave a wellness and calm effect.

This is a perfect buzz to combine it with your daily tasks, specially if you look forward some kind of motivation.

Tips to grow Silvergrape Sherbet

Our first tip is to grow her in SOG. No matter this strain can do good in SCROG gardens, with almost same yields, the difference relays more on successful posiblities.

If you work in SOG, as there are more plants, if any of them suffers along the grow cycle, the losses in terms of yields won't be much.

When growing in SCROG, working with less plants per m2, if anyone suffers during the grow cycle the losses in yields will be notorious.Evaluating this risk, and by any other reason, maybe we feel more comfortable recommending SOG technique, but as a grower is it your responsability to evaluate the risks and decide.

If you pretend to grow her in SOG, our advise is to use 16 plants per m2 in 7L pots. If you still prefer SCROG method, then try growing 4 plants in 15L pots.

Outside, as it happens with other strain that finish their flowering period by the same season, it is recommended to prune along vegetative stage, to avoid formation of a huge main cola, and instead of that big fatty promote the appearance of many secondary buds, with good size and density.

Another tip for growers (in this case for both indoors and outdoor) is to remove all those low branches once plants start to flower (never before). This cleaning of low branches will release resources that will be used to feed those flowers in the top part of the plant.

Specifically to help plant resist the heavy weight of its flowers, this strain will thank if you help her placing stalks to help her resist the weight of the heavy flowers.

Another technique that you can try is sprouting seeds and grow them directly to 12/12 from germination. You can follow the steps given in our blog, where we discuss about this technique. This way you can get high yields in only 12 weeks from germinación (what an autoflowering plant woudl take).

More laternatives that can be valid are growing techniques like mainlining, supercropping, low stress training besides different types of prunings like FIM, apical... As you can see this strain let you grow her in many different ways, and it always gives you great results.

Silver Grape Sherbet final reviews and price

If you remember smoking Super Silver Haze (or even if you've never tasted yet) and look for something different than comercial indicas in market, or you need a strain that gets to improve the yields of your crop over the average, Silver Grape Sherbet is a great choice.

Talking about the plant itself, it reminds us to those strains that no matter how you treat them or what you do to them: Always rewards you with yields and happiness. Indoors it grows fast and finishes its flowering period in 9-10 weeks, with yields notoriously over average. With these virtues, it is rare to don't fall in love with her.

Outdoors, maybe its longer flowering period makes some growers to desist from growing her, but if you see the result... We would take the risk even in areas with short summers, the result is worth the risk.

If yield aspects are not enough for you, wait to smell her. This is a blend of exotic aromas that attracts you like a magnet.

About the price of SIlver Grape Sherbet, we are facing one of Growers Choice strains with high price, but even though this is only 40€ for a 5-seed seedpack. Noticing there is a limited offer of 5+2 (where every 5-seed seedpack includes 2 extra seeds for free), the price per seed is so cheap, specially for a strain with these many virtues.
