Chocolate Sherbet
Growers Choice adds to their strain catalogue the Chocolate Sherbet seeds. This sativa dominant hybrid genetics is born from the crossing Chocolope x Sunset Sherbet. These seeds come out in female plants, with a high yields potential, and a flowering period of 8-9 weeks depending on each phenotype. Chocolate Sherbet has THC levels up to 25%, with a sweet taste and an old school hash aroma.
Genetics of Chocolate Sherbet strain
For this breeding project Growers Choice crew decided to cross two strains that set together the best from all-time cannabis. This crossing Chocolope x Sunset Sherbet brings sativa dominant plants (70% - 30%), with a short flowering period for these type of strains (less than 10 weeks). Some phenotypes will be ready to harvest in 8 weeks.
Chocolate Sherbet feminized seeds
Chocolate Sherbet seeds produce female plants. Thanks to its sativa heritage, these plants will develope so fast, what allows you to safe days of vegetative stage (growing indoors). Outdoors this same characteristic allows you to sproud the seeds later if you don't whant your plants to become giants.
Another characteristic of these seeds it's its strenght and ease of growth. This is a perfect strain for less experienced growers, and for first-time growers, as it forgives errors of growers, and also tolerates overwatering, heat and even stress situations.
The structure of Chocolate Sherbet is ideal for SCROG-type of gardens as it grows quickly, although it also yields good in SOG-type of gardens with higher amount of plants and less vegetative days.
Growers Choice Chocolate Sherbet in growing stage
As we already explained, Chocolate Sherbet is a sativa dominant hybrid with a 70% of sativa, and this is noticed in how it grows and its powerful vegetative developement.
Although this strain is easy to grow, so it will source you with large crops no matter how you grow her, our recommendation is to grow them in SCROG, where they will cover the trellis so quick getting excellent results with almost no effords.
Outdoors it ususally grows until late July (northern hemisphere) before starting to bloom, what comes out in huge plants, that can bee seen from far away if not pruned, specially when grown in-ground.
This genetics does good with pruning, and also tolerates application of advanced growing techniques to control height.
Flowering Chocolate Sherbet indoors and outdoors
Chocolate Sherbet has a flowering period of 10 weeks to 12/12 (indoors), being ready to harvest in early October (outdoors).
From the 10 weeks since you switch photoperiod to 12/12, you must notice that Chocolate Sherbet will take 10-15 days adapting to the new light-cycle.
During this period of transition to flowering plants will suffer from the classic stretch between nodes, what will make them double its size or even triple in some cases. Outdoors it is easy that plants that you let grow naturally can reach 2,4 meters tall.
This genetics manages good overfeeding and overwatering, so it forgives many of the grower's errors. Althought those growers with long experience will get a notorious improvement in yields only controlling factors like pH and EC of the nutrient solution.
Another detail to highlight of this strain is this is a highly mold resistant strain, what you can notice in its flower formation, that are thick but not as much to be susceptible to mold.
Indoors it will be also recommended to keep RH under 60% in bloom (specially during last two weeks of the growing cycle, when flores are bigger and denser).
Outdoors it is a strain that does not give too much problems to growers, specially those growing in warmer areas with less possibilities of rain in late summer, as plants are ready to harvest in early October.
Yields of Chocolate Sherbet cannabis plants
The yields of Chocolate Sherbet by Growers Choice are high. More than this, these plants can source you with super large crops even if your experience is null or almost null (indoors and outdoors).
Being a strain easy to grow, that forgives errors from grower in addition to resistant to pests and to strong heat, it is not rare she gets better yields than any other strain, no matter if quicker flowerer or longer.
Indoors in 10 weeks to 12/12 she can yield up to 650 g/m2 under a 600w HPS light, while outdoors its giant size, resistance to pests and ease of growth lets her reach yields up to 1 kg per plant of a 100% organic crop.
For its structure, quick of growth and good side-branching, Chocolate Sherbet will react good to SCROG-type of gardens (where she will get her best yields for sure), although she will also get good results in SOG type of gardens. In these type it will be recommended to select and keep a motherplant to source yourself of clones to simplify the job and only grow plants with similar size and developement. Another option is to grow seeds directly into 12/12 photoperiod.
Taste and smell of Chocolate Sherbet weed
Chocolate Sherbet has a distinctive sweet taste, and a balanced aroma, blend of spicy and cream. Once flowers are dried release a smell clearly inherited from Chocolope, with morrocan hash tones, and creamy tone that makes it more modern and special.
If you want to get a wider terpene profile we aim you to don be on rush to harvest, as every day of extra ripening helps improving the quality of the crop.
Effect of Chocolate Sherbet cannabis flowers
With THC levels of 25%, Chocolate Sherbet brings an energic buzz, common in those sativa dominant strains. If you are looking for genetics that motivate you to do whatever instead of those that absorb your energy do not hesitate to give her an oportunity in your garden.
The effect is longlasting for mind, uplifting leaving a feeling of happiness.
Tips to grow Chocolate Sherbet
Our first tip refers to the ease of growth of this strain. If this is your first time growing indoors or outdoors... Chocolate Sherbet is probably one of the best chances you'll have to get a good final result.
This is a strain that responds good in any situation, applying any advanced growing technique, so it is a great choice to test yourself and improve your growing skills.
Going deep in grow tips:
Our first tip if you grow her indoors is to don't vegetate her for too long or you'll have plants reaching your ceiling.
Another advise we can give you is to grow Chocolate Sherbet in SCROG. These genetics offer great results in these type of gardens, as due its characteristics it adapts so good to the, with a quick developement that allows to cover the trellis in few weeks. In these type of gardens we recommend using 4 plants per m2 in 20-25 liter pots.
If you prefer SOG-type of gardens the best option is to grow these seeds directly in a 12/12 photoperiod from germination. This way you'll get plants with a compact size not superior to 1,20 meters tall. In these type of gardesn we recommend using 16-20 plants per m2 in 7 liter pots.
Another interesting tip to grow these Chocolate Sherbet is to do prunings along grow stage of plants, to help controlling height and enhance horizontal growth. This tip is optimal for both indoors and outdoors (where compact plants will be more discreet)
These type of main prunings really helps controlling height, but also to improve light penetration in plant, what derives in better final yields.
Another great advise we can give you for both indoors and outdoors is that once plants start its bloom stage (never before first flowers formation) proceed with a lows stripping, that would only take energy from plant's tops. Removing these low branches in flowering has as a goal to redirect energy from bottom part of the plant to the top, where it will be used to form bigger and denser flowers.

Chocolate Sherbet final reviews and price
As we previously commented, at SantYerbasi we are huge lovers of kush strains and also Chocolope fans, so any crossing containing these elements usually interest us.
We already said more than once that a common characteristic of genetics that contain Chocolope is its slightly longer flowering period, so each grower should value if its worth or not. In our case the thought is clear:
"We would grow Chocolate Sherbet once and again even if its flowering period took 4 weeks more"
According to this, ¿what are 7-10 days more of bloom if you get something wigth superior quality? And if it also comes together with a yield increase.... It's clearly worth the extra days. The efford and wait will be rewarded.
Said this, we aim to buy Chocolate Sherbet seeds to every grower, experienced or not, who likes heavy yielders, but also who values the ease of growth and top shelf quality.
What about Chocolate Sherbet's price? You will hardly find a cheaper price than Growers Choice one, who sells 5 seeds (and actually 7 seeds because every pack of 5 includes 2 extra seeds for free). So with this format 5+2, the cost price per seed is really low compared with any other similar genetics.
