Day by day drug test become more popular. Nowadays, there are many ways to do a drug test, by urine, saliva or hair. Actually there are many labs that offer to analyze, looking for these substances, with a quick analysis of the samples given. In this post we will talk about these type of substances detection, trust analysis, and how long do they remain in the organism.
SantYerbasi team contacted Echevarne laboratory center (one of the most trusted centers in Barcelona city), asking for information about psycotropic substances detection protocols, and also for minimum consume periods for drug detection.
Types of drug test analysis
Saliva: According to lab center professionals, saliva sample is the most accurate to detect drug use during last 24-48 hours.
For the test, a sample of saliva is taken later on an isotope is added, and inmediately placed in a tube collector to get the result.
Urine: Urine analisys detects if a drug consumption has occurred the days before the drug test. Usually user will bring a urine sample of 50ml to the laboratory to be analyzed.
Hair: Hair analisys is the drug test method that could show a most accurate result from a longer period (up to 3 months). Hair grows about 1 cm each months, so the laboratory can make a test from a small piece, or few parts of hair. For a hair detection the laboratory will ask for a sample of hair from the back of the head (closer to the hair base it could be), indicating wich side belongs to the base. The first centimeter from the base will show drug test result from the last month and then the next centimeters will show before drug use.
How long does cannabis stay in the body?
At the laboratory center they showed as the following relationship between drug use and test type detection availability:
The same professionals alert us that there are many products that can vary the drug test result, some reduce the quantity of substance in body in less time, and others can false the result using an urine cleaner or saliva cleaner, but there isn't anyone against hair test (being the most trusting analisys, but also the most expensive one).
At last they also informed us that if we want the test to be legaly accepted, the laboratory should supervise the sample extraction and all the custody chain for the whole process.
