Growing marijuana outdoors is so common to find worms in buds. Flowers form and thickness needs growers to pay special atention to detect activities of these worms. Worms usually appear in vegetative phase and produce huge damages in flowering phase. All the area these worms have been rounding must be inspectioned carefully to keep out bothrytis (or grey mold).

Worms are a frequently found pest growing outdoors. Its appearance comes by hand of a fly. Worms are Spodoptera Exigua larvae.

In marijuana case, worms eat young and tender stems. If in the same garden we are growing peppers, tomatoes or lettuce, worms may attack them too.

How to detect caterpilars in marijuana

One of the easyest ways of knowing if our plants are affected by worms is look for bites in leafs and young stems. Worm's pass will leave an affected area easy to see.

 Another way of detecting worms appearance is to shake plant's branches with hands to see if any fly goes arround. If we see any fly, plants may be affected soon.

Prevent caterpilars in marijuana

To prevent worms in marijuana we can act two ways (or in both ways):

· Act with biological control to keep the worms under control.

Get rid of caterpilars on marijuana

The easiest way of get rid of worms is the manual control (as well as using previously mentioned methods). Every time we see one we must kill it. If we have seen worms in ar area, we should take speciall care rouunding those areas looking for any excrements. Special atention on big buds on its central part. Open flowers let growers check it better.

Worms mostly appear in flowering phase. Growers must take note of the products to use to control worms. Is so important to use only organic products 100% ECO enviroment friendly. Other products may affect taste and flavours, as well as affect consumers badly.

The most known prouduct agains worms is Bacillus. There is many products available that contain bacillusthuringiensis, easy to mix (it is powder) and spray. Bacillus is a bacteria that indigest worms, specially on its young phase. Usually the number of bacteria contained on each weight is marked: We recommend 32 mill. units one.

*Important: Bacillus is a bacteria. It is VERY IMPORTANT that the water used to mix with does not contain Chlorine (Chlorine is a disinfectant that would kill the bacillus)
