Watering plants is one of the most laborious points of growing indoors and outdoors (especially in garden with many plants). The Autopot modules are designed to operate systems automatically, without electricity or droppers, which growers who use them more independence in caring for your plants.
The Autopot systems, easy to assemble but with a very efficient use of water, ensure its operation, for maintenance of mother plants, such as care gardens in bloom.
What are Autopot systems?
The system is based on Autopot 1Pot modules that come equipped with a valve that restricts water entry module (AQUAvalve). Allowed to be connected together, and a reservoir of nutrient solution, forming infinite systems modules so that each grower equip your garden with the number of containers needed.

How Autopot systems work?
The Autopot system, whether or 1Pot 1Pot XL, is simple and convenient. It is based on the use of a container, with a small tank in its lower area, which allows the entry of water from the reservoir of nutrient solution. The water inlet is restricted by the AquaValve (patent) which allows entry of water when the substrate is dehydrated and in that there is restricted substrate moisture.
The system relies on manual watering duarante the first 14-21 days, so that a sufficient root system, to thereafter Autopot connecting modules together, and the tank is achieved. Once the system is working, the plants will enjoy getting an automatic watering wet-dry periods necessary for the proper development of the garden.
AQUAvalve... how it works
Once the tank is filled with water and liquid feed, it will begin to travel through thepipe from the tank. It will pass through the AQUAvalve nozzle (1) and into the tray.
As the tray fills (2) with water air is trapped inside the main body and around the ‘inner float’ causing it to try and rise (3).
As the water level increases in the tray the ‘top float’ will rise (1). Releasing thetrapped air inside the main body (2). This will in turn allow the ‘inner float’ to rise
and shut off the supply (3). The water level is now 20mm.
Potted plants in the tray will start to reduce the water level (1). As the water level reduces the ‘top float’ will close creating a vacuum inside the ‘main body’ of the
AQUAvalve (2). This vacuum traps water inside the ‘main body’ and in turn keeps the ‘inner float’ up and the incoming water shut off (3).
When the water level in the tray has run out completely (1) the surface tension around the main body of the AQUAvalve will break, this can take up to 30 minutes.
As this happens all the water that is trapped inside the ‘main body’, keeping the ‘inner float’ up and the water supply shut off is released, allowing the ‘inner float’ (2) to drop and open the water supply (3).
What substrates can be used in systems AutoPot?
The XL 1Pot 1Pot and various mixtures can be used with either substrate earth, coir or hydroponics:
Earth and 50% perlite mixed: The peat-based substrates are compressed with the passage of time, making it difficult to draw, and reducing the oxygen in the root zone. The mixture with perlite promotes ventilation, lighter substrate, and proper system operation.
Coconut fiber and 50% perlite mixed: In a land like used as substrate case, coir has a tendency to cake. With these characteristics it is advisable, also, make a mixture of 50% coconut and 50% perlite and favor a light absorbent substrate.
Rockwool and arlita: The Autopot can work perfectly in a mixture of wool and expanded clay to be an absorbent mixture and high draining capacity. In cases where the mixture is utilize, it is important to use clay with a stable pH (not all brands are). If the pH is not stable could adversely affect the pH of water in each tray Autopot.
Measures of modules Autopot
The systems may be composed AutoPot 1Pot or 1Pot XL.
The modules 1Pot are 15 liter pots.
The 1Pot XL modules are containers of 25 liters.
each 1Pot (or 1POt XL) module is easily connectable to each other to form a system that each grower size required.
Recommended with Autopot systems
After performing various tests with 1Pot and 1Pot XL systems, our recommendation is to use a set of 12x 1Pot with your deposit of nutrient solution, for each lamp (or 1,2m x1,2m culture). In cases where the grower has more than one lamp can use this simple rule Autopot 12 per square meter and the financial outlay will be rewarded quickly with a system that offers longevity, ease of use, and good yields.
What can I use fertilizers with Autopot systems?
Having decided to use AutoPot systems, the next question to answer is why fertilizer use. The Autopot systems can be used with our range of favorite mineral fertilizers or organic fertilizers and biological Biotabs 8No advisable to use liquid fertilizers to avoid problems of water stagnation and decay that could lead to pests).
The Autopot systems, thanks to its tank for the nutrient solution can be used from the most common fertilizers and growth stimulators or flowering. If the grower chooses to use this type of fertilizer will enjoy periods of up to a week between waterings (not recommended for longer prepared to leave the water to be used for irrigation of plants to avoid problems).
Biological culture lovers can use the new Biotabs fertilizers.
